Drinking Water Outages Reported Across Howard County

Many Howard County residents were without drinking water Sunday, Aug. 20, officials said.

The county's Department of Public Works (DPW) responded to reports of drinking water service outages in Elkridge, later identifying a rupture of a 36-inch drinking water main coming from the Elkridge Pumping Station, police said.

DPW shifted to an alternative water supply in order to restore service to the area impacted.
